8 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JUNE 2016 | AARP DRIVER SAFETY CLASS Cars have changed. So have traffic rules, driving conditions, and the roads you travel every day. Even the most experienced drivers can benefit from brushing up on their driving skills. By taking the AARP Smart Driver course you'll learn the current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques, and how to operate your vehicle more safely in today's increasingly challenging driving environment. After taking the course, you may even be eligible for a discount on your car insurance! (Participants should consult their auto insurance agent for details). An AARP Smart Driver course will be Tues., June 28, 12:30 to 4:30 pm and Thurs., June 20, 12:30 to 4:30 pm at the South Clubhouse. You must attend both sessions to qualify for the certificate. The classroom course costs $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. Space is limited, so register early at the Main Clubhouse starting June 1. EPAP ANIMAL RESCUE Thank you everyone who came to the May meeting! It was nice seeing so many people. I hope everyone enjoyed Dr. Ryan. He was very informative and I know you got answers to all your questions. I would like to remind everyone that on Aug. 6 from 9 to 11 am the Beaumont Civic Center will be having their low cost clinic. They will have low cost vaccinations, chipping, and licensing. So please if not chipped, get your fur babies chipped! Thank you everyone for donating old towels, blankets, collars, cat/dog food, and pet beds! We can surely use them! July is our dark month so there will not be a meeting. Our next meeting is scheduled for Sept. 19 at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Have a great summer and we will see you in September! Remember please keep an eye on your pets, we have a lot of wild life here! Info., Sandra Burgon, 909-855-0226. NEW HOMEOWNER ORIENTATION MEETING The management team will conduct a New Homeowner Orientation Meeting on Wed., June 29, in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom at 5:30 pm. SECURITY CAMERAS Please be aware that we have security cameras in each of the clubhouses and the administration building. All activities are being recorded with video and audio recordings. By entering the building you are giving your consent to be recorded. PUBLIC WORKSHOP ON THE SPEED LIMIT & PHOTO RADAR UNIT In the May 19, 2016 Open Session Board meeting, the Board of Directors tabled the approval of the new rules and regulations that would accompany the enforcement of the speed limit & photo radar unit within Sun Lakes Country Club (the proposed rule can be found in the April edition of the Sun Lakes Lifestyles Magazine on page 4). The Board of Directors would like to host a public workshop to further discuss the development of the rules for enforcement on this subject. The Public Workshop will be on June 27, at 1:30 pm in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. The Board encourages all homeowners to attend this meeting. AGE SURVEY REQUIREMENT Thank you to the residents who have already completed their age survey form! We are estimating that we have received approximately 3,700 forms from approximately 6,100 residents. With this recertification, Sun Lakes Country Club needs to prove that 80 percent of the community is 55 years of age and older. We have gathered approximately 60 percent so far, but still have a way to go to get to 80 percent, so please continue to send in your forms and encourage your friends and neighbors to do so as well. If you have not sent in your form yet, and you need to pick up another copy, it can be found in the administration office, the Main Clubhouse reception desk, or printed from our Sun Lakes website (www. sunlakescc.com). This piece of paper needs to be filled out for EACH person that lives in the home and returned to the Main Clubhouse reception desk or the administration office. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to call the administration office at 769-6649. We thank all of the residents in advance for your time and effort in getting this document to us! ~ Administration Office
