FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JUNE 2016 41
The competition was fierce and close for the domino championship
for the month of April. The final table players for the championship
consisted of Vernon Bell with 14 wins, Marvin A. Gaines with 13
wins, Carl Carson with 13 wins and John Bragg with 12 wins. Vernon
was held scoreless and John managed to win one game. The real
battle for the championship was between Carl and Marvin. The lead
kept going back and forth until the last game. Carl beat Marvin by
one game and was the domino champion for April with 17 game
wins. Marvin finished with 16 wins. Just outstanding playing by
both players. Carl celebrated his victory by having buffalo wings for
his dinner selection.
The domino group players come from all kinds of backgrounds
such as sales, drivers, and singers but most of the players are retired
veterans from the United States military. There are a lot of jokes and
great stories told. In addition, the players listen to old music while
playing dominoes. Every once in a while someone will get up and
dance a little and hope they do not break something. The atmosphere
is friendly, fun and respectful. Everyone is welcome so come out and
join us for some fun.
Dominoes are played every Wednesday and Friday from 5 to 9 pm
in the Lodge Game Room. For more information call Jesse at (951)
769-2035 or Reggie at (951) 769-6483. ~ Marvin A. Gaines

Horseshoe Club
The month of May brought us great weather and new members. Our
new members are Charlie Leger and Mike Corbett. They are both going
to be a good fit in this fun loving and competitive group of horseshoe
slingers. Welcome aboard gentlemen! Our May social event starting
with dinner at The Bistro followed by dessert at our club secretary's
home, Dee Kelch.
You haven't had dessert until you've tasted some of this lady's baked
goods. Dee informed us that she has retired and will be leaving us in a
couple of months to go back home to Lincoln, Nebraska. Dee has been
so instrumental in keeping the club on track and running smoothly.
Good news for Lincoln, sad news for us. Thanks Dee! So this gives
you a glimpse of the goings on in our club. If any of you reading this
article, both new residents or those who have been here a while and
are interested, don't hesitate to call Ron Erickson at (951) 846-3288,
rejlerickson@sbcglobal.net or Gary Christie at (951) 845-0520, goldtoy@
