| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JULY 2016 | 49 Sun Lakers at Canyon Lanes This is the third week of bowling for our summer league and we have one team in first place with 10 wins and three teams just behind with 9 wins each. The first place team is Sweet Sixteen with Judy Ehler, Elsie Last, Lee Munday and Lonnie Brown. Tied for second place is Sun Lakes Strikers with Dave Orby, Pam Orby, Beverly Bly and Richard Bly. Also tied for second place is Sweet and Sour with Diana Reusch, Lillie Lawaetz, Frank Otten and Dolph Mason. Also tied for second place is 4-4 Fun with Barbara Semic, Joanna Hollabaugh, Sally Brown and Warren Hollabaugh. For the season high scores we have for the Men, Scott Waddell with a Scratch Series of 700, and Jim McGowan with a High Scratch Game of 243. For season high scores for the women we have Maureen Condon with a Scratch Series of 518 and Marilyn Tefank with a High Scratch Game of 197. Bowlers must have a minimum of 12 games to be listed for Handicap Game or Handicap Series. We have room for one more team to fill our league. If you are interested please call Teri at (760) 217-9656. Sun Lakers Monday at Moreno Valley Bowl Monday Sun Lakers have bowled four weeks in the summer season already. We were very fortunate to re-elect President Herk Ranieri, vice president Wanda Ranieri, and Connie Matty, secretary-treasurer, all by unanimous vote! We have ten full teams and after four weeks team two - "Spare- us" with Dianne Everley, Lisa Park, Al Kaminsky, and Dick Taylor are in first place with eleven wins and five losses. Team three "Slo Rollers are in second place with ten wins and six losses. Shirley Padick, Wanda Ranieri, Herk Ranieri, and Jim Padick make up this veteran team. Team one, "Spares are Good" with Louise Deal, Lil Mc Lean,Tom Keheley, and Bob McLean are tied for third place with team four, "Recycled Teens" composed of Ginger Hines, Don Hines, Dottie Lucas and Jim Mc Callum. Both teams have nine wins and seven losses. We have cheered some fabulous scores in the first quarter of the new season. Bill Osretkar had an eleven strike, one nine-spare 279 score to lead the top scorers for men! Bob Mc Lean was second with a 256 and a 246 in the same series! John Noonan with a 253 was third. Ed Sterger with a 203 and Tom Keheley with a 201 broke the 200 barrier! For the women, Louise Deal with 189 was tops followed by Lisa Park 182, Micki Elsing 169, Jean Turnbull 169, Sue Shubert 168, Lil Mc Lean 168, and Connie Matty 167! We have now established our new averages and new handicaps and we can expect even more great scores as the weather heats up! The fun has just begun! Let the good times continue! And Knock Down That Nasty Ten Pin! Home Again Bowling Our short summer league season is underway with eight teams. Four teams are all Sun Lakers - one team with three Sun Lakers - one team with two Sun Lakers and two returning teams with four non Sun Lakers. We would like to welcome two new members, brother and sister, Joe Lawrence and Darlena Stevens, Moreno Valley residents. They are starting to bowl again after being out of competition for a long period of time. After four weeks of bowling competition, team five, "Recycled Teens" is in first place with twelve wins, Darlena Stevens, Joe Lawrence, Dottie Lucas and Jim McCallum are one half game ahead of team two, "Dick and his Dolls" comprised of Dick Taylor, Lia Park, Betsy Zalewski and anchored by Dianne Everley. Team one - "In the Hunt" with Micki Elsing, Lil McLean, Ken Elsing and Bob McLean are in third place with nine and one half wins. Women's high scratch games: Sue Sloan 179, Dianne Everley 178, Linda Costell 176, Karol Petty 175, and Lisa Park 175. Men's high scratch games: Bob McLean 222, Frank Mashburn 214, Tom Keheley 213, Bill Osretkar 211, and Jeff Burris 209. Women's high scratch series: Micki Elsing 493, Sue Sloan 489, Dianne Everley 462, Lil McLean 456 and Lisa Park 454. Men's high scratch series: Bob McLean 596, Frank Mashburn 576, Tom Keheley 567, Bill Osretkar 563 and Tony McLean 548. Top men's handicap series on May 25 was Tom Keheley 720 and for the women Darlena Stevens 706! Time to buckle down and hit the pocket! Lets go Home Again - hit them high and watch them fly!
