12 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | July 2016 | July's Tip: As a reminder, Preparedness and Safety is really everybody's business. Many of our residents have requested information about the details of preparedness. An excellent source for this kind of information is the website: www.readyshelby.org, sponsored by Shelby County (Memphis, TN area) and the Regional Red Cross. It is very well organized and filled with easy to implement tips on how to get prepared. There are check-lists, forms, short articles and links to other sites. Last month's article listed a number of things to consider when making preparations for your household. As a reminder, because this is a Seniors' Community and is not a Senior Care Community, each individual and household is responsible for their own personal arrangements for preparedness, safety, and care. Do not expect others to be responsible for your medical, special equipment, food, or water needs! Our CERT member have begun preparing for this year's "Great Shakeout" which will be held at 10:20 am on Oct. 20. If you are interested in learning more about this — and perhaps joining in — please see below for our meeting details. All are welcome and encouraged to attend! And finally, "If you see something, say something!" When you do, call BOTH security roving patrol, (951) 202-4603 and the Hemet Police Department, (951) 765-2400. For more information and training, our Preparedness and Safety Meetings are held at the Lodge on the fourth Monday of the month at 6:30 pm. Emergency Preparedness Committee Architectural Committee NEW OWNERS ARCHITECTURAL GUIDELINES SEMINAR If you are a new owner or resident we invite you to a one hour orientation ARC (Architectural Review Committee) seminar on Thurs., July 14 at 9 am at the Lodge. We will review the Guidelines, CC&Rs, our drought situation and any other questions you may have about living in a Home Owners Association complex. LANDSCAPE CHANGES IN FRONT YARDS At the ARC meeting on June 6. The ARC disapproved four out of seven applications for making changes to front yards. Why, you ask? • Incomplete plot plans. No dimensions and no location of plants. • Not enough plants to give a 51 percent green look. • Type of plants and size of plants (1 gal. – 5 gal.) containers. • Use of cactus (not permitted). • Not enough information. Plan too vague. If you have any questions before submitting your plan talk to Michelle at the Lodge. She can guide you in the preparation of submitting your application and plan. OUR WATER DISTRICT (EMWD) HAS EASED WATER RESTRICTIONS TO A DEGREE Even though EMWD has made these revisions you still have the same Water Budget you had before. Check your water bill, it indicates what your budget (amount of water you can use before going into the next higher bracket) is. Thus you may have enough water to plant more green vegetation or keep your plants (lawn) from drying out this summer.
