16 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | July 2016 | Facilities Committee Here we are in July with the warm weather upon us. Good news: the barbecue area is now complete. The Golf Club relaxed with one of their outdoor BBQs. Everyone thought it was a remarkable venue which includes fans and lighting. There was a Grand Opening of the BBQ area for all the residents held on June 7 with free hot dogs and hamburgers. Hope you made it to this event. We expect that many of the clubs will hold events there. We expect the new shade covers to last for many years to come. Another completed project is the new horseshoe pits; the one game where "close" counts. If you haven't already, come check it out. If you are interested in joining the Horseshoe Club, come out Saturday morning at 8:30 am to participate. Other projects that are pending or under review are the repair of the Lodge roof, installing a new polymer surface to the pickleball courts; installation of new carpeting and tile to the Lodge hallways and conference room; sports court lighting, and bollard lights at the Paseo area. The monthly inspection of the facilities revealed minor problems and most can be repaired by our handyman. Many of us chose to live our retirement years here at Four Seasons because of the calming aesthetics. While out enjoying our community, if you notice areas that need maintenance, appear to be a safety hazard, or can be improved, don't hesitate to fill out a communication form at the front desk. Landscape Committee Summer is upon us and the Landscape Committee is continuing to find methods to insure the long-term investment in our trees, plants, lawn and flowers is protected. Wisely, several years ago the Facilities Committee recommended, and Board of Directors approved, the installation of piping and equipment to convert the irrigation water for Four Seasons Boulevard and World Cup Avenue from drinking water to recycled water. Since that time, Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) and the Riverside County Health Department have looked into the potential for further use of recycled water. New guidelines have been approved that make such waterline conversion easier to accomplish. Several Landscape Committee members, along with Facilities Committee, Lodge Management, and Artistic Landscape Maintenance representation, recently met with EMWD staff to discuss the potential for extension of recycled water use for more of our Common Area landscapes. Potential to expand recycled water use to much of the Lodge grounds appears to be a potential worth investigating. Further work on this matter, and notice of this potential enhancement will be shared in further months. In parallel with the work inside the Four Seasons Gates, the Landscape Committee and the Community Awareness Committee have been in touch with the city of Hemet, to explore the potential to expand the use of recycled water along Florida Avenue and Four Seasons Boulevard outside our gates. The city is working with EMWD on this matter.
