Green Valley Veterinary Clinic is Yucaipa's oldest pet hospital with a long standing excellent reputation in the community. For 55 years Yucaipans have brought their dogs, cats and other pets to Green Valley for check ups, vaccinations and spay and neutering. Dr. Troy Ellis was the trusted veterinarian for many of those years, and he is now retiring, leaving the practice in the very capable hands of new owner Dr. Andrew Nawar. Dr. Arbe Kraft is also on staff and sees patients on Saturdays. Dr. Nawar took over the practice in December, 2015 and said he loves Yucaipa and the people and pets that come with it. "Everyone has been so kind and welcoming," said Nawar. "Yucaipa is full of good hearted, salt of the earth people." Nawar said he's looking for a home in Yucaipa and is eager to get to know residents needs. "I want our clients to be vocal and let us know how we can better serve them and their pets," he said. "We're so thankful for the love and support of the community and will continue to serve it to the best of our ability." Dr. Nawar reminds pet owners with summer comes foxtails, and he's seeing dogs with foxtails stuck in their eyes, nose, ears and skin. "It's important to keep brush in your yard low and to monitor your dogs when they are outside," he said. He also said it's been a rough allergy season for pets and to bring them in if they are scratching themselves excessively. "We can discuss allergy management before it gets to be bigger problem," he said. Dr. Nawar stresses to never leave a dog in a car unattended and to avoid walking dogs on hot asphalt during the summer. "We have a very pet loving community here and anything I can do don't hesitate to call," said Dr. Nawar. Green Valley Veterinary Clinic offers a half off vaccine clinic every Thursday from 7:30 am to noon and 1 to 6 pm. On Mondays, they offers baths for $20 and dental cleanings by appointment for $145.
