| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2016 | 37 Dinner Dance Club The Country Western Dance Club has for many years given weekly line dance lesson and twice monthly couples dance instruction. In addition, we have our Friday evening dances in the Ballroom that everyone can enjoy. One important reason that the club has remained popular is the fact that everyone, singles and couples, are equally welcomed to learn a dance and have a good time. Even though the club is making a few changes this year, we will continue with the same format of lessons and dances. So, if you are interested in learning about the club and what and how we do it, we have some FREE, no obligation activities that you can try. Our first line dance instruction this year will be on Mon., Sept. 12, from 7 to 8:30 pm in the South Clubhouse. This will be for very beginners and those that think they need a refresher. This is FREE, so come and give it a try. Our first couples instruction will be on Tues., Sept. 13, from 7 to 8 pm in the South Clubhouse with some very basic instruction. So, all couples can come and learn a dance. Again, there is no charge. The Friday evening dances are in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom from 7 to 9 pm. The first of the new season is Fri., Sept. 23. This dance will be FREE, so if you are interested or curious about what we do, please come and spend the evening with us. Still more questions? Call Joe or Jean at 769-9148. Country Western Dance August promises to be another great month with music by The Sophisticats, and our dance will be held on Sat., Aug. 20. Doors open at 5:30 pm so you may have time to meet and mingle with friends, but we have temporarily suspended the dance lesson portion of the evening due to low attendance during the summer months. We would like to hear from you, our members, regarding whether this should be a temporary or permanent discontinuance. Dress for the evening is "dressy casual" — and the menu sounds delicious. Starting the evening we will have fresh fruit with berries on a lettuce leaf. Entrée choices are as follows: 1) Tender tri-tip topped with caramelized onions, wild rice with mushrooms and chef 's choice vegetable for $23.50; 2) Large Shrimp Louis salad $23; 3) Vegetarian option is spinach & mushroom stuffed manicotti also with chef 's choice vegetable for $20. Dessert sounds great: Lemon cake with lemon filling! Sign-ups are from Aug. 1 through Aug. 11 by leaving your check and sign- up form in the box located on the front gate at 782 Torrey Pines Rd. Sign up with a group if you like and request your favorite table location. We'll do our best to accommodate your request, but you will be given the next best location if your choice is not available. Check out our website to see the table locations and print out your sign up form. REMEMBER, if you didn't get your membership check in prior to July 31 and you want to attend, you must accompany your dinner sign-up check with your membership check or you will not be able to join us! If you have signed up and are unable to attend, please call Carla at 797-3506 before 3 pm on the day of the dance. She can arrange for you to pick up your meal to enjoy at home. See you at the dance!
