Pop Tennis
POP tennis is definitely POPPING!
Though we have been experiencing some typical early summer
heat, our players have been really receptive to playing early to
beat the heat. The early morning time slot of 7 am has not been
officially sanctioned by the Master Board but we are hopeful that
they will endorse the earlier time, a change from 8 am through
the hot summer months to accommodate our members. We have
received so many compliments on our July magazine article which
encouraged many people to check out POP Tennis online to see what
we have been publicizing about the growth and excitement this
sport is receiving. The greatest compliment we receive must surely
be the response we get from our new members who have easily
formed new friendships among our players. It is nice to see how all
our members bond together to become one great big, loyal, happy
family. With so many people traveling during the summer months to
cooler climates, visiting family, etc., we are often short on our regular
players but we enjoy getting the occasional visitor here seeing family
or simply guests of fellow Sun Lakers. We also have been delighted
to see some of our Four Season ladies come and join us and hope to
host our second annual Fellowship Playday with them in the early
fall. Scheduled days of play are Mon., Wed., Sat. at 10 am & Tues.,
Thurs., Fri., at 7 am and Tues. & Thurs. evenings at 6 pm. Sunday
play starts at 8 am and is open play for all residents of Sun Lakes
for all games! Please – no perfume/cologne to help our players with
allergies. Check out the bulletin board by the courts for events or call
