The program for our Aug. 10 General Meeting in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom will feature resident, Judy Stevens. Judy is known as the "Butterfly Lady" in Sun Lakes. Judy will be sharing her expertise on the Monarch butterflies and how to attract them to your home. On Sept. 14, the Garden Club will host their Annual Fall Luncheon. The chairperson for this event is Jo Formino. Tickets will go on sale in August. Jo's number is 769-1775. TRIPS: Sept. 10: A trip to the Lawrence Welk Theater to see Sweet Charity. The cost is $94 which includes your lunch and reserved seating. Oct. 18: Trip to the Living Desert which will include a tour. Lunch is on your own. Cost is $55. Dec. 10: Trip to Rancho Cucamonga to see the Christmas Lights. This trip is $35. Info., Evelyn Hawkins, 845-7199. There are usually flyers on Evelyn's porch at 1607 Fairway Oaks. Jan's parents started the business in 1979. Jan and her husband Gary have carried on the tradition. The store is filled with more kitchen gadgets than you will ever see in a lifetime. There are still many old favorites as well. Jan will be happy to bring any gadget you have been looking for. She just asks that you email her. "Have gadget, will travel" to Sun Lakes. There are still openings for the "Shields Date Farm" excursion on Wed., Sept. 21. Happy Cookers is hosting this event in conjunction with the recreation department. The bus leaves at 7 am.
