FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2016 33 We meet the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm in our new meeting room, the RCN main lobby; thus, our August meeting will be Aug. 16. Visitors are always welcome. We invite all photographers, regardless of skill level, to join us for our regular meetings, workshops, speakers, and field trips. For the July meeting, the assignment was to take a photograph of the same subject but in two different lighting scenarios. As usual, many interesting pictures were shared with our group. We then discussed and conducted a constructive critique of all. We learn a lot about various techniques, software, and hardware to enhance our work. For example, in our June meeting, Irve Sturner, our chairperson, gave a talk and handout on "How to Use Hyperfocal Distance." Another one of our members, John Hansen, did a "tips and tricks" show and tell on best camera settings to capture July Fourth fireworks. Several of our members participated in a field trip to Forest Falls on June 9. This outing was lots of fun and more are being planned. This is a great opportunity for the club to get out and "shoot" photos with other members discussing camera settings and comparing results. There was another Four Seasons Camera Club Photography Exhibit displayed at the Lodge July 22 through July 31 in the lobby. It was a great opportunity for the club to show off some of their talent. According to Wikipedia, Haleakala is also known as East Maui Volcano and is a massive shield volcano that forms more than 75 percent of the Hawaiian Island of Maui.
