This month the 8 Ball In-House Tournament was interesting. Of
the 10 players who participated, two players, Ray Windhorn and
Rocket Spinosa, went through four rounds of play undefeated. Ray
however, defeated Rocket and sent him into the Loser's Bracket.
Rocket was pitted against Larry Rice who for the third month in a row
was placed into the semi-finals. Larry Rice, from the Loser's Bracket,
and undefeated Ray Windhorn chalked up for the final match wherein
Ray was victorious securing the first game and the Championship for
the month.
The 9 Ball In-House Tournament consisted of eleven players vying
for the championship. Gary Christie (celebrating his birthday this week
along with that of Joe Aviles) tripped into the finals undefeated for four
rounds. Dewey Allen came up from the Loser's Bracket to participate
in the finals and according to the rules of the Double Elimination
format had to defeat Gary twice to win. Dewey accomplished this feat
and became the monthly 9 Ball Champion. The active members of
our club not only enjoy playing pool, but enjoy watching the games
when we ourselves are not playing. We thank those players who were
lucky enough to advance to the final matches and congratulate Ray
Windhorn and Dewy Allen, the winners this month
