32 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2016 During the summer the ceramics class has remained quite busy with classmates working on individual projects and our participation continuing to grow. We welcome all of our neighbors, each bringing their own talents and enjoyable personalities. Last month we hosted a "Summer Fun Time" event (see inset photos), welcoming both residents and their grandchildren and guests to our ceramics class to work on pre-selected fun pieces. We taught our participants how to work with acrylic paints and some even learned how to use a "chalking" technique. Marion Looney, one of our classmates, volunteered her time and talent by adding "lifelike" eyes to pieces as requested for a finishing touch. We had great participation and enjoyed the creativity and spending time with our special guests. A special thanks to Tom and Marion Herron for helping put this class together. If you are looking for a new hobby, or want to create your own design, participate in a class project to create pieces for yourself, friends and family, come to the ceramics class. Drop by the Craft Room to see our monthly ceramics class schedule and learn more about our upcoming class projects. Come and join us this summer, keep cool and have some fun, we meet twice a week in the Craft Room: Wednesday 1 to 4 pm. Class is currently closed on Saturdays for summer break. We will resume our regular 10 am to 2 pm class on Saturday, Sept. 10. See you there. We would love to have you share your ideas with us. All of us have been very busy this last month working on an assortment of projects, join us anytime! We need more neckties for a project we are working on. If you have too many and don't need them, please donate to our Craft Group and they will be put to good use. We are up to about 75 with several months to go. We have three new ladies that have joined us, who are relatively new to the community, so our group keeps growing. We welcome all who would like to join us, experienced and those who would like a new hobby.
