The domino playing for the monthly championship for June was
dominated by John Bragg. John took the game of dominoes to a
place no other player has been before. John went in the "Domino
Zone," with 26 game wins. No other player has ever won that
many games in one month. Solomon Hayes, was the only player
that came in striking distance of John with 20 game wins. Simply,
great playing by both players. Congratulations to John Bragg the
domino champion for the month of June.
On June 29 and July 1, the domino players started competing
to play for spots in the annual July Fourth domino tournament
held at Four Season's Beaumont. The players winning two out of
three domino games played in a final four tournament for trophies
and special recognition. The final four players for the July Fourth
tournament were, Leroy Wright, Reggie Fuqua, Carl Carson and
John Bragg. The games were tough and fiercely fought, an all out
war. When the smoke cleared, "The Ghost," Leroy Wright rose to
the top and won first place. Reggie Fuqua won second place. Jim
Stover was voted the most improved and the "meanest domino
player." Congratulations to all of the players and participants.
