6 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | August 2016 | A Note From Your Activities Director By Louise Ceccarelli I hope all of you are finding fun and easy ways to stay cool and hydrated. Remember to carry a bottle of water with you in this hot weather, especially when spending time outdoors. Speaking of outdoors, many residents have been taking advantage of our new and improved BBQ area. With the expanded shade area with lighting and fans, it's the perfect place to have a get together. Just remember to reserve your time at the BBQs — you do this by contacting the front desk and letting them know how many BBQs you need and how many people will be in attendance. If your party is small, you may be sharing the area with another group. But don't worry, there is plenty of space to go around. Don't forget to pick up your tickets for the Music on the Plaza on Aug. 23 from 6 to 8 pm, with Jason Weber. At just $5 per person, it's almost like free. Jason is a great musician with a skill and enthusiasm for contemporary music that I know you will enjoy. He plays a style of music that that will make you want to get up and dance. The Car Show committee has started working on this year's event which will be Sat., Oct. 22. We are looking for volunteers who would like to help with the planning, as well as helping out that day. If you would like to volunteer, please contact me at the office so I can put you on the list and let you know our meeting schedule. Every year we attempt to do more — bigger and better — and can use your help. We have some upcoming events you won't want to miss, so mark your calendars and be ready to join in: • Movie Nights on the Plaza — every Thursday night in August is movie night. We will be canceling the 7 pm movie inside, and showing it outside with our new movie screen and sound system. Bring your chairs, snacks, and drinks and join us for some simple FREE fun. We will have some room for golf carts as well, but it will be first come first served. There will even be some cartoons while you're getting your chairs in places. • Oct. 31 — Halloween — we will have some fun on the Plaza. This will be a Halloween party in three parts: Chili Cook Off, Costume Contest, and Music on the Plaza. So dust off those costumes, pull out your chili recipes, and polish up your dancing shoes because it will be a fun night! More info will be coming your way soon! • Nov. 11 will be our annual Tribute to Veterans with a "Salute to the USO" theme. We will have a swing band, hot dogs and hamburgers for sale, and the "Andrews Sisters." We will have our annual roll call of veterans and a salute to the military with flags and music. This will be outside on the plaza, weather permitting. I am always looking for people who want to help out with an event, so if something interests you, please come see me at the Lodge. See you 'round…
