| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | August 2016 | 13 Facilities Committee A very important question that almost everyone asks is: What does the Facilities Committee do? Great question! Our committee is made up of volunteer residents that have the goal of maintaining Four Seasons Hemet as a beautiful, comfortable and well maintained property. We have a diverse group that wants to put their previous experiences to good use to achieve this. We have a Charter that guides us in reaching our goal. The Facilities Committee has no budget. All expenditures must be approved by our Board of Directors. A key to maintaining the Four Seasons property is the monthly inspection. Two committee members tour an assigned area of the property with guidelines of things to look for — wear and tear, damage and upgrading. Each meeting, the inspection results and resident findings are presented to the Facilities Committee. These are discussed and assigned action to be taken. If they are normal maintenance issues they are assigned to the appropriate facility maintenance staff to be handled. When bigger issues are found, as the Lodge roof repair, they are evaluated by us and the board. Projects like this require specific expertise. In the case of the roof, an engineering firm was contracted to make specific recommendations for the needed repair. The project is then let out for bid by licensed, insured and bonded contractors. All this is done with the Board of Directors approval and oversight. Please do not forget that you, all our residents, are needed and greatly appreciated in bringing your facility concerns to us. Each of you reside in an area that you see every day and have the firsthand knowledge of needed changes to that area. Help keep us informed. Landscape Committee Our landscape gardeners, Artistic Maintenance, came through again and provided a wonderful restoration to the areas around the BBQ patio in time for the Fourth of July event. Those planters had been damaged due to the construction activities. They added the finishing touch to an entertainment area that will be enjoyed by us all for many years to come. On a more serious note, the house fire which occurred on Tewell Drive in July was devastating to say the least. We are so grateful to the Hemet Fire Dept. for their speedy response and having the situation under control so quickly. We should all take care that our homes are protected as much as possible. If this home hadn't been on a corner lot and had a much wider side yard, it could have spread to the house next door and so on. Most of our houses are built closely together, so check out your yards for dried shrubs. And most importantly, cut back any tree branches that are lying on your roof tops. The weather is so hot during the summer months, but a breeze gets up most afternoons which could result in driving flames from one home to another. It is better to be safe than sorry and we wish for us all to be on the safe side. Wishing you all a wonderful summer enjoying our beautiful community. Allied Barton management has advised us that the company is merging with Universal Protective Services in the upcoming months (Q4) forging both companies into a $4.5 billion company. While Allied Barton will keep their headquarters in Pennsylvania, and Universal Protective Services will keep their headquarters in Santa Ana, branding will eventually change to Universal Protective Services. We will keep you advised when those changes occur. Another recent project completed by the ACC is the guidelines for the use of community access equipment, dwellingLive and the front gate directory. The documents are titled "Resident Equipment for Community Access" for use of transponders and FOBs to access our community and amenities; "After Hours Visitor Access" for use of the front gate directory; and "Online Visitor Registration" for use of dwellingLive software to register your guests and provide household information. These documents are available in hard copy or electronically by contacting the Lodge service desk. We would like to remind all residents that in order to successfully use the directory after hours, your contact information must be current in the directory. Please let the Lodge staff know of any changes to your phone number (cell phone numbers can be used) for the directory, so that the correct number is linked to the resident in order for the resident to provide access to their guest after hours. If you are not already in the directory for the purpose of guest access after hours, and wish to be, please complete the Access Gate Directory form at the Lodge front desk. An ongoing issue that we face at the World Cup gate is having vendors and guests being directed to the World Cup gate from their GPS (Global Positioning System). Newer vehicles receive GPS through satellite; however, older vehicles and portable GPS units operate from software that periodically needs to be updated. Many people do not want to incur the cost of upgrading, so their directions are going to be the same and outdated. When Four Seasons was first under development, the main gate was at Devonshire/World Cup and California, which is why there are old directions to that gate. The ACC has made an attempt to notify all the major mapping companies such as MapQuest, Google Maps, Garmin, Bing, Yahoo! Maps, and several others through the Map Creator. In order to eliminate confusion and wasted time, we ask that all residents explain to their vendor and/ or guests specifically to not follow their GPS directions if it leads them to the World Cup gate, and instruct them to always enter our community on Four Season Blvd. at Florida Ave. SECURITY OFFICER PROFILE: Juan Romero has been a security officer for three years. He started working at Four Seasons in 2015 as a pool monitor, when he was offered a full time position for our site. Before entering the security industry, Juan painted murals for several schools and businesses in the area. He also worked maintenance at a local mobile home community for several years. He has been married to his wife Litahni for eight years, and has four amazing children between the ages of 5 and 10. Juan really enjoys working at Four Seasons and he looks forward to providing a safe and happy environment for all who reside here. story continued from previous page
