FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2016 29
Neighborhood Watch
Thanks to all who came to our National Night Out event on
Aug. 10 and helped to make it an evening to remember.
Not only did we have a great social time with friends
and neighbors but we were also able to thank our law
enforcement agents for their daily work in keeping
us safe.
Attendees included Mayor Lara, City of
Beaumont; Mayor Art Welch, City of Banning; Sean
Thuilliez, Chief of Police Beaumont and attending
officers; Alex Diaz, Chief of Police Banning and his
Captains and attending officers; California Highway
Patrol Representatives.
It has been noticed that people traveling on the local roads need
to slow down at major traffic lights and traffic stops before turning,
as oncoming traffic may be coming at a great speed and
not stop as expected. In particular going from First
Street and turning left onto Route 79 has been a
problem.
Be aware of people around you while
shopping; take only what you need with you
and wrap your cards in foil if you do not have
a special wallet to protect your I.D. Do not
take too much cash with you, and if you take a
purse wear it close to your body. There have been
incidents in town of purses being grabbed.
This is purely FYI because we want you to be safe
and to continue to enjoy this wonderful neighborhood we call
our home. ~ Susan Wilson
