26 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2016 Senior Transportation Assistance Interest Group This has been a very exciting month for transportation issues that will benefit Four Seasons Seniors and the community of Beaumont. We have also set an exciting agenda for the month of September. Please mark your calendars for our Ice Cream Social, Thursday, Sept. 29, 6 pm at the Lodge. We will have guest speakers on transportation from Beaumont Pass Transit, Elizabeth Gibbs and Pat Foster and Eric Ustation from Riverside Transit Agency who will give us information on Americans With Disabilities (ADA) cards. There will be a question and answer period and there will be a bus outside the Lodge to explore the use of a Lyft for those who are disabled. We invite our Four Seasons homeowners to come to our Four Seasons Senior Transportation Meetings to be supportive of seeking out better transportation options for our seniors for those times that they are unable to drive themselves. Meetings are held the third Thursday of the month at noon at Smitty's Restaurant in the Lodge. The first Thursday of the month, our T-Now meetings are held at the Beaumont Civic Center at Noon. Lunch is served. There is no meeting in September. For anyone wishing to come to these meetings please call Brenda or Richard Teeman at (909) 594-8487 We have very exciting news. For the last three years, Elizabeth Gibbs has been working at opening up better transportation with San Bernardino. An agreement has been attained to let Pass Transit bring their buses into the San Bernardino Travel Center which will enable us to transfer to a multitude of buses taking us to any place in San Bernardino. We will now be enabled to use Dial-a-Ride in Beaumont, Riverside, and San Bernardino. A new and better hub is being built close by in San Bernardino. Also, our Senior Travel Training Team Program has been given a free lunch buffet and tour of the Morongo Casino by Morongo Transit. It is for first time users only. Your I.D. is a current Players Card for these perks. If you don't own one, we will get you one. We will start out with Dial-a-Ride for anyone 65 years and older and ADA card holders. Those 64 years and younger will meet at Walmart to transfer us the Pass Transit fixed route. We are looking forward to seeing you at our three very exciting events. I hope you will get our sign up sheets for our Travel Training to Morongo for free buffet and tour, please call or email us. ~ Brenda and Richard Teeman, (909) 594-8487
