Canasta #1 Join us for an afternoon of friendship and fun while playing a game of Hand and Foot Canasta. We meet in the Card Room Thursdays, 1 to 4 pm. Each week you may play with someone different, giving you an opportunity to meet other Four Seasons residents and old friends who enjoy an afternoon of "cool" cards. We supply the cards so all you have to bring is your body and the desire to have a little fun. If you don't know how to play we are always happy to set up a teaching table and by the time the afternoon is over you will have mastered the game. All you have to do is show up and leave the rest to us. ~ Melody Seewoster Bunco This month we will play Bunco on Sept. 8 and 22. We always play on the second and fourth Friday of the month. We have a lot of new home owners and Bunco is very easy and it is a great way to meet some new friends. You really should come and give it a try. We meet in the card room at 1 pm sharp. Don't forget to grab a drink at Smitty's or even lunch beforehand. See you there. ~ Cheryl Burke Mah Jongg Everybody is welcome to join us for Mah Jongg at 12:30 pm on Mondays in the 1528 Building. We accept beginners and offer coaching for those who have not played in several years. A current Mah Jongg card is required but you can borrow or copy one until you get your own. You do not have to own a Mah Jongg set to join the fun, so come on out! ~ Barbara Goodreau Pinochle Pinochle is an exciting card game where you bid and bluff to name trump and take control of the game. This game is played with a double deck of special cards of ace through 10 against other aficionados, to tease your mind, and keep you sharp. Come join the game on Wednesday and Fridays from 10 am to 1 pm in the Card Room. Newbies and oldies are welcome for fun and socializing. Info., George Soeten, (951) 797-0254. ~ George Soeten We are looking for players, substitute players, and people who are interested in learning the game. I am happy to teach anyone who wishes to learn the game, either individually or in a small group, your home or mine. Pan is a card game, much on the order of gin in some respects, and played with up to eight people at a table. It is played by both men and women, so men are very welcome as well as women. The game can be played in the day, evening, in a room in the Lodge or in private homes. If you are interested, please call me, Linda Mendelson, at (951) 941-9100 or email me at Goldtoy@earthlink.net and I will answer any questions you may have. As all card games, it is played with both skill and luck. ~ Linda Mendelson Pan 38 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2016 We're looking forward to another fall season and, perhaps, cooler weather. If you're thinking about a new activity this autumn, please consider joining "The Original Bridge Club." We play every Monday at 12 pm in the RCN building. The room is comfortable, the players congenial and the game thought- provoking and challenging. Bridge is a partnership game, the better you communicate with your partner, the more enjoyable it is. Most of the players use the Standard American style of bidding. Gordon Sheppard at (714) 390-2610 or Helen at (951) 845- 9312 will be pleased to share information about the bridge world here at Four Seasons.. ~ Helen Shoemate-Gurley Bridge How fortunate we are here at Four Seasons to be able to accommodate the very successful ACBL Sanctioned game of bridge. The facility comfortably provides a room for classes, twelve tables of bridge and a convenient kitchen. Our club is expanding under the direction of Barbara Rebels who is a skilled instructor and director. Call her at (951) 530- 1523 for more information and reservations. We look forward to meeting one another each Friday afternoon at 12:15 pm in the Recreation North Building. Please call Helen at (951) 845-9312 or Candice Parrish at (951) 845-0942 for more information regarding our club. ~ Helen Shoemate-Gurley Duplicate bridge All welcome. Easy to learn. Not far behind was Debbie Aiello. Don't despair if you didn't win a trophy, we always have next year. Come and join us in the card room on the second Monday of each month at 4 pm and the third Saturday of each month at 3 pm. Bring your friends or meet new ones and enjoy this really fun card game. A teaching table will be set up for anyone unfamiliar with this game or just in need of a refresher course. For more information call Cheri Howard at (951) 756- 1216. ~ Cheri Howard Phase 10
