FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2016 41 Ballroom & Social Dance Our Summer Fun Dinner Dance was a great success… an evening filled with music, laughter, dancing and happy faces. And we were reminded of a bygone era by taking a trip from Chicago to LA on old route 66. Our club sponsors only three of these events a year, and they have become quite popular. Already there are many requests for tickets to our Christmas Dinner Dance, which we'll tell you more about in another month. During August we do not have regular dance sessions each week. We will start up again on Sept. 12 – Monday night at 6 pm. If your heart beats, you have rhythm. Listen to it. Count with it – one, two, three, four. Then move your feet to the beat. And remember to smile. Keep an attitude of joy, and have lots of fun with it. Now you know the basics of dance! Contacts: Puring and Gary Stifter at (951) 922-8333, or at purings@verizon.net. ~ Willis Fagan Here is September, which means the holidays are right around the corner. Now is the time, if you are even considering it, to begin line dancing. You still have time to learn three to four dances before holiday dances begin. Or maybe you have a wedding coming up in your family. Think of how surprised they would be if you got up and did the Electric Slide or the Cupid Shuffle! Line dancing is fun exercise and does not require you to control someone or be controlled by another person. The new dancers in the beginners' class are having so much fun and learning steps so quickly that most are advancing to the 3:45 pm class. They just needed to learn one step at a time, which is how I teach. Sometimes even the advanced dancers have trouble learning steps. We are not born dancers; it is a learning process. The important part is coming out and having fun. Stop by and check out our class. Hope to see you on Tuesdays at the beginners 3 pm class in the Lodge Ballroom and at 3:45 pm for the advanced class. ~ Martha Franck Line Dancing Below: Strings of lights and colorful lanterns made it a magical summer place Left: Fresh flowers, colorful table settings, and route 66 license plates for the trip Left: With lots of great music, the floor was always busy with dancers
