We celebrated the half year during our summer Bar-B-Q
with our good friends and competitors from Solera Hemet, aka
Diamond Valley, and a good time was had by all. The Four Seasons
at Beaumont 8 Ball Club provided tri-tip (prepared by volunteers
Larry Rice and Leo Babin) and teriyaki chicken (prepared by Thanh
Harrah). Side dishes, deserts and drinks were added to the feast by
our club members and it was all remarkably, but not surprisingly,
delicious Thank you all for your attendance and contributions to
this success.
Every month we have two in-house tournaments for club
members and two traveling tournaments against other clubs with
similar interests in the game that we love to play. These tournaments
allow us to hone our skills and improve our expertise in the game.
Our 8 Ball competition gave me an opportunity to participate in
the finals as I came up from the loser's column with only one loss
to challenge the undefeated Larry Rice. I was victorious in game
one but according to the rules of double elimination, Larry won the
second game and the monthly 8 Ball title.
Nine Ball was exciting as Larry Rice and Brian Anderson vaulted
into the semi-finals undefeated after four rounds. Brian fell to
Dewey Allen who progressed to meet Larry in the finals. Dewey won
two in a row to finalize the 9 Ball title for this month.
