We welcome another month especially September to the best
time of the year to enjoy our favorite sport! Yes, it has been hot
with a capital "H," but with the warmth of this time of year we also
have the added benefit of longer days to enjoy late afternoons to
work on our games and to also spend some relaxed time with
friends and family. It really is one of the great perks of living
here! Check it out. After 4 pm you can invite your sons, daughters
and grandchildren for a family round for a mere $20 pp on the
Championship course, and actually have enough daylight to play
a complete round!
It is also the time of year to begin preparation for our Board
elections in October by recruiting nominees by our Nominating
Committee. This year's committee consists of Dennis Stancik,
Woody Catalano and Larry Knowles. To date, the committee has
gathered a great group of nominees for board positions for next
year. This group consists of Mike Dowd, Jim Miller, Jim Wilke,
Bob Warden and Ralph Yates, an extremely impressive group of
high caliber candidates. The Men's Club this year will be voting
for the positions that will be vacated by the term fulfillments of
Dennis Cisterna, Roger Hobbs, Gary Strachn, and Bill Nevins.
With this list of fine candidates it looks like we are going to have
a "real good " election, the first in many years!
