This is the perspective of the Artist of the Month,
Jacque Sneddon:
I love the visual arts. In the past I've dabbled in
oils and watercolors, but dabbled is the key word. I
just didn't have time to devote to art lessons. But with
retirement I couldn't pass up the opportunity to learn
in our community's art program so I chose Drawing
& Sketching. The first assignment was to draw an
elephant. I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out but
with guidance from Rob Kelman teaching me how to
see what I was drawing, I actually drew an elephant.
That was a real surprise for me. I have been equally
surprised with each drawing I completed. Rob helps
me look at the world with a different eye (to see the
shadows and angles) and to challenge myself (by trying
color pastels and using black paper). My fellow students
are extraordinary and many of us have found a skill we
didn't know we had. One by one, Rob is helping each
of us find and develop our creativity. Join us and find
yours.
We meet Mondays from 10 am to 12 noon and/or
Wednesdays from 6 pm to 8 pm. Come join us and
discover a new you. Any questions, call Rob Kelman
at (951) 992-9156. ~ Rob Kelman
