FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2016 41 October is an incredible month, and not just because the temperatures have lowered and have become tolerable again. It's also because the foliage around us is turning rich beautiful colors of gold, red and orange. And October is a month with lots of free entertainment for you to enjoy! On Friday, Oct. 7, at 6:30 pm, we'll have our Radio Shows. This show is FREE! The doors open at 5:30 pm. There will be table seating. Bring your dinner and beverage of choice. These are old fashioned radio shows that you or your parents listened to. Our actors read from scripts along with realistic sound effects, like they did back in the 1930s and 40s. There are two shows: The Lone Ranger will bring you back in time, to the old Wild West; in the other show we'll find Blondie (with Dagwood) getting herself into some funny situations that only Blondie can manage. She'll definitely get you laughing in your seats. We already have this show cast, but we have two more planned for 2017 in April and September. If you would like to be considered for the next shows, please call Tom Shelley at (323) 253-3854. LOVE and MARRIAGE - Friday, Oct. 28, Doors open at 6:30 pm. Show starts at 7 pm. The show is free. It's a compilation of 12 skits. They are all about love and marriage, very funny, and yet somewhat familiar. The actors for these skits have memorized their lines, so it will be like a comedic twelve act play. You will be laughing and groaning, but you'll be happy that you got out for a FREE entertaining night. For this show, the Ballroom will be set up with theater seating (no tables). Either eat prior to or after, as food is not permitted for this performance. This is a show you don't want to miss! Please check this Breeze for the day/time of Karaoke. Karaoke is another fun event that is totally free to attend. Whether your desire is to get up and sing, to be a spectator, or to join others on the dance floor, the choice is yours. You'll leave with a big smile on your face with some songs you've heard still playing in your head. It's another great free night out and you won't be disappointed. Leaving October, is our holiday show. It is in the planning stages right now. It's going to be a combination of comedy and some religious skits, along with our choir singing some new selections, as well as other favorites we know you'll love… and of course the sing-a-long at the end. We're looking for people who are interested in participating in the skits, looking for people who are capable of memorizing some lines and if they could sing well enough to carry a tune, that would be a big bonus. John Horning is producing the comedy side and his actors will be reading from a script. If you're interested in getting involved with the holiday show, please contact me ASAP! My info is below. The holiday show is Friday, Dec. 2 and Saturday, Dec. 3. There is still more coming before the end of the year. I'll tell you about it next month. Lylia had a couple of games planned which really added to the day. We played Family Feud with our bridge family. What a riot! Not only do we have a great time playing bridge, we also enjoy just getting together. If you have thought about learning the game or want to take it up again, please come and check us out. Our groups just keep growing and we would be happy to teach you the game. We have a fantastic group of people and we have a great time each week. Bridge is a challenging game that definitely helps keep our minds sharp. We meet in the Card Room in the Lodge at 12 pm sharp on Monday and Wednesday. Monday info., Bill Guy (951) 845-5627.
