FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2016 45 We meet the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm. However, due to some conflicts, our October meeting will be on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 6 pm at our regular meeting room, the RCN main room. Visitors are always welcome. We invite all photographers, regardless of skill level, to join us for our regular meetings, workshops, speakers, and field trips. For the September meeting, the assignment was to take a photograph of children playing. What a great way for some of us to show off our grandchildren and our creativity photographing active children not related to the photographer. As usual, we then discussed and conducted a constructive critique. We learn a lot about various techniques, software, and hardware to enhance our work. Afterward, Chairperson Irve Sturner, gave an excellent tutorial on using layers in Adobe Photoshop software enhanced by Irve's graphic design skill set. Stay tuned for more information regarding future tutorials, workshops, and demonstrations. As I've mentioned many times, the camera club loves to display their photography and that was no different in the The Art Fair in the Lodge Ballroom on Sept. 24. Residents who attended said they had a great time enjoying the talent of many of our artists. ~ Lyle Cameron Camera Club A portion of the Town Hall in Bordeaux, France. Photo by Bill Christelman Amphitheater The Summer Concerts in our Amphitheater have come to an end for 2016. The weather was kind to us this summer as there was not a hint of rain or wind for any of the concerts. Adding to the enjoyment was an offering of a variety of musical styles. The July concert featured a Beach Boys Tribute Band and a plethora of beach balls to fall from the skies. As always, there is a wonderful support system which is essential to bringing this concert series to fruition. So a big thank you to the following: First, the Board of Directors who have supported the Amphitheater Summer Concert Series from the very beginning stages and who have made the current level of talent available for the enjoyment of our residents. Second, though they are behind the scenes, the technical crew make it all happen. Without their hard work, the audience would be humming through a comb and wax paper for music. The crew is the first to arrive in the morning on concert day and the last to leave in the evening. They haul, tote, set up the entire sound system from speakers to wiring, work with guest musicians and maintain all of our sound system equipment. Larry Goodreau is at the helm of all this talent consisting of John Barilone, Jeff Davidson, Mark Lassen, John Noonan, Michael Rothberg, Andy Shipper, Stan Sweeney and Colin Taylor. Third, The Amphitheater Production Group fills in the details, i.e., completes paperwork, tracks down and contacts the musicians, and at least a hundred additional details. The chair of this pivotal group is Mark Lassen, who works very closely with our Activities Director Cindy Graves. Group members are Mary Christleman, Toni Finer, Larry Goodreau, Penny McDonell, John Noonan, Doris SanFilippo and Stan Sweeny. We look forward to seeing you next summer sitting under the stars enjoying more great music! ~ Doris San Filippo
