FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2016 53 The Curly Cues members who have regularly attended this summer have really increased their skills! However, we are all anxious for the members who have been traveling to come back and make our group complete once again! We miss them when they're gone! Nonetheless, each week we have a really fun time watching each other make remarkable shots, yet encourage each other when we miss other shots. The ladies are all becoming more comfortable with one another as they are getting to know each other better. Each week we pull peas at the beginning of the session, so no one knows who their partner will be until the numbers are put together, forming a team. It's so wonderful to see how the partners help each other and are growing not only friendships but billiard skills in the process. Since this group isn't even a year old yet, we will be holding our first in-house tournament on Oct. 3. It will be interesting to watch how the ladies handle the tension of a partnership tournament, how their focus is centered on the game, and how much fun they have. There will be prizes for the winning partnership, so the added incentive will make it even more fun to watch. This will be good practice for our challenge to the Billiards for Fun Group in the first part of 2017. In 2017 the ladies will also learn other billiard games, including 1-15 and 9-ball. After playing straight 8-ball, APA rules for a year, it will be fun to see which games are their favorites. So, if you are interested in learning to play billiards, already know how to play but haven't made time for it yet, or are rusty and want to polish up those skills, come check us out every Monday from 1:30 to 3:30 pm in the Billiards Room. We hope you'll join us soon! ~ Eileen Gilbert- Antoine Curly Cues wild bunch Billiards The "Wild Bunch" 8-Ball Billiards Group is back and ready to begin a new season of one-on-one competition. Captained by Gracy Luna and Larry Chase, Four Seasons "Wild Bunch" is an 8-Ball billiards group designed for the more competitive pool player. There are eight teams in the league, each team having six to eight players with various skill levels. Four Seasons "Wild Bunch" consists of some of the best players in the league: Larry Chase, Pete Antoine, Mike Corbett, Mike Fisher, Carlos Rivera, Rocket Spinosa, and Gracy Luna. While having fun and enjoying the game, we encourage each other to achieve a higher level of skill by competing with outstanding players on the other teams. Our ultimate goal is to win the season Championship and we are well on the way to doing so once again! If you want to play serious, competitive pool, we invite you to stop by the Billiards Room when we practice on Wednesdays at noon and join in the stimulation of competitive play. Who knows, you just may want to change up your game and play on the team. ~ Gracy Luna Lois Waugh prepares to shoot as partner Teri Martin looks on Cindy Schwinn lines up her shot Always smiling Lois LeMottee concentrates on her shot
