56 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2016 BACK TO SCHOOL WITH FOUR SEASONS D.O.G. Many have said 'goodbye' to summer and 'hello' to a new school year, so Four Seasons Dog Owners' Group (D.O.G.) is gearing up for some INTENSE learning! Pet parenting can be as confusing as human parenting! How do we know what's right for our furry family members? After all, dogs and cats can't tell us exactly how they are doing. No matter how many furry friends have shared our lives, there is always something new to learn. One of the key priorities of Four Seasons D.O.G. is education. We want the happiest, healthiest, and best behaved pups ever! Did you know Four Seasons D.O.G. has two canine trainers who provide guidance and training in group or individual programs? Thanks to them, we have enjoyed a number of obedience workshops over the past several months. Participants observe tremendous improvement in their dogs' behavior. Even our pack walks aren't just for fun; they are critical to canine training and socialization! We'll bet you didn't know that we have an agenda of educational topics for pet parents, as well. Our group seeks out guest speakers who are experts in their respective fields. In September, we started learning about nutrition. Practical Pet Feeding – Part 1 (of an ongoing series) discussed feeding choices that promote health and longevity from the perspective of a holistic nutritionist. In October, we will learn about the importance of planning pet care in the event of a life-altering emergency. What would become of your pet if you could no longer care for him or her? Learn more about key considerations and options. Future topics will include: canine CPR, essential oils, healthy supplements, grooming, common hazards to pets in and around the home, pet loss grief counseling, pet insurance, managing separation anxiety, and more. We welcome our kitty-loving friends, too. We know you will be interested. Please join us! Four Seasons residents don't need to be members to participate, but if you are interested in keeping up to date on schedules and topics, we recommend subscribing to updates by emailing us at fsb.dogowners@gmail.com or by joining our private Facebook group, Four Seasons D.O.G. Four Seasons D.O.G. meets at 6 pm every third Wednesday of the month in Rec Center North, Room 3. If you have any questions, please contact Patrick at (951) 769-7626 or Martha at (951) 295-7209. ~ Martha Baumgarten D.O.G.
