12 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | October 2016 | Security Officer Doug Bond grew up in Brighton, Michigan. His parents moved the family to San Diego where Doug attended Mission Bay High School and San Diego State University. One of the more interesting companies that Doug has worked security for was a small San Diego company called Linkabit that introduced the cell phone to the world after they renamed the company Qualcomm. Doug came to live in Hemet in 2002 so that he could have a closer watch of his grandchildren growing up. His oldest grandchild started high school this year, while the youngest just started pre-school, but don't tell him it is a real school! Doug and his wife live in a mobile home park near Four Seasons, so he has a short commute to work. Access Control Committee Contributed by Ginny Gallagher and Tim Taylor. The Committee continues to seek volunteers who can commit to meeting monthly (2nd Wed of the month at 9 am) and who also have the desire to be engaged with numerous safety policies and procedures that will assist to make our community more secure. We are looking for members who have project management and/or information technology experience, and would be willing to research, analyze and present application information that could facilitate safety improvements for our Four Seasons community. If interested, please contact the front desk to complete the Volunteer application form,. As reported in the September Herald, the ACC was directed by the BOD to revise our proposal for the "delineator project" at the World Cup gate. The ACC resubmitted a revision that would eliminate the delineator posts, yet narrow the approach lane by bringing out the curbing and landscaping. The hardscape extension will also prevent golf carts entering without a transponder/FOB by going around the downward barrier arm before the sliding gate closes. This effort will be a collaborative effort between the ACC, Landscape and Facilities Committees. The project will also coincide with a previously planned Facilities Committee project where they need to replace pavers in this area. The proposal has been approved by the BOD by majority vote, and will look something like the photo above. Another idea being researched is to relocate the FOB reader next to the transponder reader so that an ingress vehicle is at the gate when gaining access, which would disallow any other vehicle passing it to "steal" the signal.
