Friends we will miss
Robert "Bob" Sinclair passed away peacefully on September 3, 2016 at the age of 93. Bob was a 23-year
resident of Sun Lakes Country Club where he enjoyed the camaraderie of so many neighbors and friends. Born in
Alberta, Canada, Bob moved to California in 1950 and married Vera Kozier, also from Canada, in August 1951. Prior
to moving to Banning, Bob lived in San Gabriel, California for 32 years where he and Vera raised two daughters, Lori
and Karen. Bob had a career as a bookkeeper, but in his spare time loved following his favorite baseball and football
teams or playing cribbage. He enjoyed lawn bowling and had been a member of the Hemet-Joslyn Lawn Bowlers Club
and prior to that, the Santa Anita Bowling Green Club. He was an excellent dancer and also played the accordion in
his younger days. But most of all, he looked forward to time spent with his daughters. He is survived by his daughter
Lori Engdal and her husband Robert of Hurricane, Utah, and daughter Karen Sinclair of Seattle, Washington. Bob
will be remembered for his sweet personality, his kind soul and his warm smile. He will be greatly missed.
Henry Tappata, 89, passed away on August 6, 2016. He was born in Bahia Blanca, Argentina and graduated
from the Argentina Air Force Academy with honors and was a military pilot. He immigrated to the USA in 1954
and became a citizen July 14, 1961. He worked in aerospace for over 35 years either building aircraft, selling aircraft
or buying aircraft for Northrop, Lockheed, Douglas, McDonnell Douglas and Texas Air Corporation. Henry was a
resident of Sun Lakes for 23 years participating in many activities — past president of the Sun Lakes Tennis Club,
Pool Table Club, golf and bocce. He enjoyed cards and dominoes with friends and especially writing letters to editors,
expressing his views of the world. Henry is survived by his wife, Dalene, stepson Mike Reed, daughter-in-law Lori,
and grandchildren Erin Elizabeth and Evan Henry, sister Stella of Bahia Blanca, Argentina and many loving nieces
and nephews in Argentina and Spain.
