20 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2016 | Summer 2016 is one for the books. Lots of sun (as in Sun Lakes!), lots of fun. We still have nice weather but fall is upon us. As the days get shorter, use this extra incentive to curl up on the sofa or a favorite chair and start a new book. Maybe you had some great travels this summer and want to learn more about the areas you visited. Maybe friends that you visited recommended new books or authors. Maybe after all the summer activities you just want to recharge with a little "me" time. Let your imagination wander as you start a new book! Please check out our expanded selection of audio books. From the activity we've gotten on Wednesday afternoons (for checking out audio books) we know there is great interest in these titles. You will be able to peruse the titles in stock in the NEW glass cabinet in the paperback library. We still will have checkouts on Wednesday afternoons but this case will display and store our holdings. The Library Committee is actively reviewing what books are most requested so we can respond to your needs. Thanks for donations of Readers Digest large print books; these are likely the most current of our titles in large print. The selection has grown and we find that the space in the paperback library isn't enough. So this one section of large print books is now moved to the south club house library where there is more space. For you Sun Lakers who enjoy these we hope this works. How do the Sun Lakes libraries work? We always have new residents so let's review this great benefit of Sun Lakes life. There are four libraries. The beautiful main library/reading room in Main Clubhouse is for hard back books. Markers on the shelves indicate book type (for example, "Mystery"). Books are arranged alphabetically by author. Across the hall is the paperback library, again with books separated in sections. Large print books are also in this room and include hard back and soft back. All Westerns are also here. For grandparents there is a section of children's books. The South Clubhouse library is all paperbacks, primarily romance, mystery and general fiction. As mentioned the Readers Digest books will be found here as well. The North Clubhouse has a large section for paperbacks but also has some specialty sections not found at the other libraries. There is a section for sports books. Also biographies (please note: in this section only, books are arranged alphabetically by the subject's name) and non-fiction. This is also where you will find a selection of jigsaw puzzles. Borrow and return books at your leisure. I go to all four libraries when I am looking for a particular book.
