32 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2016 | This is another fun month for me. This will be my eighteenth year trick or treating with grandkids. I wonder how many Donald Trumps I will see on the trick or treating path. I hope Sun Lakes will have the Halloween Doggie Parade and costume contest again. If they do, I hope you will add that to your list of things to do. Our next meeting and caregiver support group will meet on Thurs., Oct. 20 at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. We do not have a guest speaker this month, so you will have more time for the support group. It is so important to attend these support group meetings. We learn so much from sharing our experiences with each other. Our patient group meets in the Arts and Craft Room. This group is designed to help you the caregiver. Just drop your loved one off and go on to the meeting. Enjoy the meeting and support group knowing your loved one is well taken care of and having fun. We play games, do exercises, have entertainment and do just about anything your loved one wants. Our volunteers are loving and caring. This month Susan Brown will entertain us. Thank you so much to Ray Rendon for entertaining us last month. We always enjoy him and look forward for his next visit Don't forget to mark your calendar for our Holiday Luncheon which will be held on Thurs., Dec. 15 (12 noon) at Johnny Russo's Italian Restaurant. You will have a choice of five meals to choose from. More details to come next month. If you have any questions about the meeting, support group or patient group, call me (Anne) at 845-8700 or Diane at 769-0130. We are here to help you. We also have reading material we can loan you. Give Joanie a call at 769-1386. Continuing with the 50 Things You Should Know About Alzheimer's Disease, here are the final three. #48 Many communities offer support services such as meal delivery, in-home care, transportation, adult day care, or respite care. #49 Your local Alzheimer's Association, Area Agency on Aging and senior center are good places to find resources in your area. #50 You don't have to do it alone. If Alzheimer's disease is affecting your life, you can take steps to ease the suffering this disease can cause. Memory Care Group
