Pop Tennis
Although the heat is still with us, so are the loyal POP
tennis players. Our summer hours begin at 7 am and
continue to be cool enough to entice a large number
of players to happily hit for several hours. We will be
holding our free clinic on Fri., Sept. 30 at 8 am. Pat and
Michelle Carter will be your mentors, so please feel free to join us in
learning how to play or better your already good game.
Please sign up (sheet at glass case) for our tournament on Sat., Oct.
1 at 8 am (check in is 7:30 am). Tournament director is Pat Carter.
Instructions of play will be posted at the bulletin board by the courts.
There will be a fee of $5 for the tournament which includes balls,
sandwiches, chips and iced tea. Please put money in an envelope
with your name and give to Jeannie.
We are also having a potluck on Oct. 2 at the North
Pool at 1 pm. Please sign up and let us know what you
plan to bring. BYOB (no glass). Our scheduled
days of play are still Mon., Wed., Sat. at 10/ and
Sun., Tues., Thurs. and Fri. at 7 am/ Tues. and
Thurs. evenings at 6 pm. Open play for all residents of Sun Lakes.
Please no perfume/cologne for those who have allergies.
Please check the bulletin board by the courts for events or time
changes. We would like to thank Sally Wolfe for continuing to forward
our newsletters to SL. As it has been a long distance endeavor, Lillie
Lawaetz has taken over as secretary. If you have any questions, please

Do you enjoy playing the billiard game of 8 Ball? If you do, come join us. All residents are welcome to practice with us Mondays through
Saturdays. We normally 'pea' for partners at noon, then play to 2 pm or so.
There is no cost to join our group. However, if you elect to join a team, there is a $15 competition fee per three month season. Eight teams
compete every Thursday; four at 9 am and the other four at 1 pm in our Main Clubhouse Billiards Room. For a fun afternoon of fierce-but-
friendly competition, come watch us play.
