On Sept. 29 we had the happy occasion of a Four Seasons ribbon
cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening of the trails that
were revamped for limited mobility residents. About 25 participants
came: residents on scooters and walkers, the Landscape Committee,
the Board of Directors, management and other interested neighbors
to be a part of this special event. Ribbon cutter Louvenia Ortega was
chosen for being a significant influence in getting this project going
with the support of the Board members. Members Len Tavernetti
and Claudeen Diaz discussed the need for the project during their
election campaigns and Len assisted in doing research for the project
by visiting parks with trails similar to ours that were designated for
individuals with limited mobility.
He also studied their particular signage and used all of his
findings to develop a baseline for what was done on the Four Seasons
trails. Additionally, a landscape consultant was brought in to work
with the management company and Brad Alms Landscaping to
help implement the necessary changes on the existing trails. Lastly,
builder K. Hovnanian, supported the project to complete an excellent
team partnership. Happily for those residents previously unable to
take advantage of "trail-scooting" (enjoying the trails by scooter),
all of these efforts culminated in the beautiful trail access we have
today. Good job team!
