I can't believe we have "breezed" (get it? Breeze) through this entire year already! So much has gone on and there is still more fun to cram in during these last few weeks. Tighten your seatbelts and let's start the fun with the Thursday, Nov. 3 "Committee Membership Drive." This event will be in the Lodge Ballroom from 4 to 6 pm. If you're unfamiliar with what our Four Seasons committees do, this would be the perfect time to find out. There will be displays and friendly people to explain what opportunities are available… here in the community and as an extra incentive, there will also be free Smitty's pizza and a raffle. If you went to the last "Match Game" (like the old TV Show) we had in the Ballroom, then you'll be happy to find out that Gail Lindeboom has offered to host another audience participation game show night. This hilarious evening starts at 6 pm on Friday, Nov. 4 in the Lodge Ballroom again. There is no cost to attend and you are welcome to bring in your dinner and favorite beverage (BYOB) if you'd like to. Do not miss the two Veterans Day events we have planned for the community this year. The first one is a time of remembrance as we do a short "Honor Walk" to the Veterans Memorial Tree at the little park area just down from the Summit (a minute or two walk). We'll all meet at the Summit at 10:45 am and walk down to the tree at 11 am where we will take a few minutes to remember our precious veterans and those that gave the ultimate sacrifice. We will be placing a wreath at the tree in gratitude of their service. Then at 6 pm in the Lodge Ballroom we will be holding a program to spotlight our World War II resident veterans and some of the amazing stories that came out of that time. Join us to honor this group of vets whose numbers are rapidly dwindling. It is always a good thing to take one day out of the year to recall the men, women and families who have sacrificed so much on our behalf. See some fascinating memorabilia, enjoy dessert and shake the hands of our own hometown heroes. A special Karaoke will be held this month on a Friday, Nov. 25 at 5:30 pm. (Yes, it's the day after Thanksgiving). As most of you know, Karaoke is typically on a Saturday, but not this night. Bring your good voices or good humor and enjoy the fun. The "Annual Event Planning Meeting" for Clubs, Groups and Classes. This meeting will take place in the Lodge at 6 pm on Tuesday, Nov. 29. If you have an upcoming special event you would like to plan for 2017 (like a banquet, party, show, or just need some extra dates to book the facilities for your meetings) then come prepared with a preferred event date and some second and third date choices. We will be holding a lottery for groups that desire the same date. This meeting should not last more than an hour or so. You do not need to attend, if your current meeting days and times will remain the same as they are now.
