FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2016 31 Neighborhood Watch Due to the Presidential Debate we decided to cancel our Town Hall Panel Meeting last month with the Beaumont Mayor and other city officials and will reschedule it at a later date. Please watch this space for more details. Our November Neighborhood Watch Meeting will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 10 am in the Lodge Ballroom. Our guest speaker will be Lt. Sal Suarez of the Highway Patrol and Desert Hills Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Agency (the I-10 truck scales in Banning). We anticipate many more trucks going through our freeways in the years to come and this will help us learn about that. The holiday season will soon be upon us and we wanted to remind residents to be observant and stay safe over this time. Some useful tips include: 1. Lock your packages in your trunk. Do not leave them visible inside the car. Do not park next to large trucks. 2. Lock your car and close the windows, even if you will be away for only a few minutes. 3. Stay in busy, well-lit, places. 4. Avoid carrying cash. Use a credit card but be aware of identity theft and cover your card with aluminum foil if you do not have an identification proof wallet. 5. It is getting dark earlier, please carry a flashlight. 6. Never drink and drive. More safety tips will be published on the City of Beaumont website. Our Neighborhood Watch Christmas potluck and social will be Dec. 14 from 9 am to 1 pm. Please bring friends and neighbors for this fun event. Block Captains: the holidays are always a good time for gathering our neighbors for socials such as a cookie exchange, coffee, potluck, walk together. Please be reminded to update your current address, phone number, email if it has changed recently. Our thanks to the seven new block captains that signed up recently. We always welcome new volunteers as residents' situations change. If you are interested or would like more information please contact Judy Irving for more information at (951) 922-2525. As you are moving around this great place we call home, remember if you see something, say something. Wishing you all a wonderful and safe holiday season! ~ Susan Wilson
