FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2016 41 How is it November already? We would like to apologize for the cancellation of the Radio Show that was scheduled for Friday, Oct. 7. This was due to unforeseen circumstances. We know many of our fans were disappointed. Please look for announcements of future Radio Shows in 2017. Thank you for your incredible support of the "Love and Marriage" show. Based on your positive responses, it looks like we'll be doing more performance skits in the future. Keep in mind, that as we age, memorizing is not as easy as it once was. Kudos to all of the actors, and the audience for understanding how hard we worked. The Holiday Show has two performances: Friday, Dec. 2 and Saturday, Dec. 3. 300 tickets per show will become available on Nov. 21, at the Front Desk in the Lodge. No more than six tickets per household will be given out, and only for one show date. If you obtain tickets and you determine you will be unable to use them, please return them to the Front Desk. We will likely have a wait list. The performances will have theater seating (no tables) and will delight the young and old alike. Our choir has added some new faces and voices. We also have some new challenging songs with exquisite sounds to fill you with the holiday spirit. The show will end with a Sing-A- Long, and a surprise. After the opening choral selection, there will be a segment of music and demonstration of the rituals celebrating their holidays. Then there is more holiday fun with characters you know. There will be a lot of laughter — a show not to be missed! Just days after the Holiday Show, we have another wonderful evening of entertainment, the Magic Show. On Tuesday, Dec. 8, Colin Taylor and John Horning are bringing some of their friends from The Magic Castle to Four Seasons. They're professional magicians coming to entertain us with a first rate show at no charge. You'll leave scratching your heads thinking, "How'd they do that?" How do we keep bringing you shows and performances for free all year? We do it through your generous contributions. We always have a box at the entrance. If you want the Performing Arts Club to continue offering no cost entertainment, anything you can give is always appreciated. We spend it on costumes, scenery, copyrights and so much more. 2017 will be bringing you an entertaining lineup including a new show highlighting the music of Broadway. As we tap dance into the new year, Performing Arts will keep you up to date on this delightful evening of entertainment. We all have a favorite Broadway song or two, if you have a special one let us know. There are so many from which to choose. It is Performing Arts purpose to — let us entertain you." Lastly, we are still in need of sound people, stage hands, crew, and volunteers for the Holiday Show. Experience is not necessary, willing to train. It is an interesting game that keeps us learning. Not only do we have a great time enjoying each other's company, we learn from each other as well. Most of us thought "okay, how difficult can a card game be?" Well it's amazing not only how 52 playing cards can create so many games but also how bridge can be so challenging and have so many conventions (a bid that provides a signal of communication to your partner) to learn. So if we confused you with that, come sit in and see if it is a card game you might like to learn. We meet in the Card Room in the Lodge at 12 pm sharp on Monday and Wednesday. Monday info., Bill Guy (951) 845-5627. Wednesday info., Verina Rector (951) 769-1687 or Tom Halley (760) 898-3215. ~ Tom Halley We have some useful topics coming up in the next couple of months. In November "Digital Image Management" will cover how to move pictures from your camera or phone to your computer and what to do with them once they are there. The December meeting will talk about "Why Engage in Social Media – Especially When You Are Over 50?" We will talk about the different types of social media and how to use them to get the information you want. Come join us for interesting technology topics on the second Tuesday of each month at 10:30 am in the Lodge Ballroom. ~ Howard Lyon Computer Technology
