Chili Cook Off
We had a great time at the first Four Seasons Chili Cook-off! It
was all due to the hard work of our very creative chairwoman, Diane
Corte and the social committee liaison, Margo Dennis. Diane wishes
to thank all her committee for their help: Colleen Rosenberger,
Margie Culton, Jeanne Lincoln, Char and Dave Weakley, Cheryl
Thomas, Lucille Gould, Marilyn Rhyne, Russ Brown, Rik Dennis. A
special thanks to Bev and Dave Habig for their photos of all of us,
and to Richard English for being an excellent emcee.
Ten of our residents signed up to compete in the cook-off: Carl
Kreun, Bob Haunschild, Gene Hikel, Vickie Gastelum, Nancy Drake,
Joyce Kerns, Dan and Char Kopp, Dave Scott, Char Weakley and Tony
Criscenti. Our judges Hal Clark, Rik Dennis and Juergen Roesler
chose Char and Dan Kopp as first place winners and Gene Hikel
for second place. Then it was time for the attendees to vote for the
Tasters Choice. We thought they were all delicious, but we had to
chose some winners. Dave Scott took first place and Carl Kreun took
second. It was a very close race.
We all dined on Francisco's chili, coleslaw, cornbread and cobbler.
Cowboy Jack Johnson provided a great atmosphere for our western
night. Their tribute to Hank Williams was enjoyed by all, especially
the dancers.
