| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | November 2016 | 17 Architectural Committee Get More than One Bid on any Contractor Work: A lady we invited to the ARC meeting to review her landscape plans said she only received one bid and it seemed very high to do the work she wanted. Although ARC cannot recommend any person or contractor, we asked if she had contacted another contractor for a cost bid. She said no, because she was concerned that he would be upset with her. Don't be afraid to get more than one bid. We recommend you get at least three bids and ask for the contractor's license number. What is a HOA? Good question. You are living in a HOA (Home Owners Association) community. There are many reasons we all bought a home here in Four Seasons. One is safety. We are a gated community with patrols and gates to keep out intruders that may do us harm. With that peace of mind, come Rules and Regulations we all agreed to when purchasing our home. Some of these Regulations we like, some we can live with even though we may not fully endorse them. Thus we have a Board of Directors whom we elect to govern our community. Actions of the Board control what we can do and cannot do with our property. Major changes in these Rules/Regulations must be submitted to the owners (us) prior to Board approval. This brings us to alternating or changing the outside of your house or landscape around your home. Too often someone decides to make a change without approval from the Architectural Review Committee (ARC). This could be a small or somewhat insignificant change one would think does not need approval, but all most all improvements or alterations require ARC approval. So please check with the Architectural Support Staff at the Lodge before commencing any work. Landscape Committee We knew that the Master Plan - Phase One would make a big difference to the appearance of the landscaping on Four Seasons Blvd. but this is a "WOW." It will take a while for all of the new plants to settle in and be at their best but we can already see how beautiful it will be. All of the diseased, and dying Purple Leaf Plum trees which have been removed along areas of Four Seasons Blvd. and World Cup will be replaced with Crepe Myrtle trees which are more drought tolerant, less prone to disease and have a longer blooming period. Sadly the Flowering Pear trees around the flagpole are also diseased and have to come out, they will be replaced with trees that are more hardy in the Hemet climate. It is our aim to be sure the replacement planting will not only be attractive to the eye but will last for a long time to come.
