| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2016 | 41 ROSE PARADE: Our Nov. 9 membership meeting will be all about the Rose Parade and the process it takes to make it happen. Our speakers are Gary Yearick and his wife Pam sharing how this wonderful event comes about. How are the Rose Queens chosen? How are the float entrants chosen? Who pays for the flowers used? Come join us and bring your own questions. We meet the second Wednesday of each month at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom and refreshments are served. Our membership chairs are always at the door to answer your questions about how to join. CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON: Dec. 14 will bring our annual Christmas Luncheon. Our theme for this year is "Gift of Giving" and will be held in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. The doors will open at 10 am and the program will begin at 10:30 am. Tickets are on sale and the cost is $23 pp. For more information please call Betty Beidelman at 769- 6200. CHRISTMAS LIGHTS: Don't forget about the trip to Rancho Cucamonga on Electric Avenue on Dec. 5. The cost is $35 and dinner is on your own when we stop in Victoria Gardens for shopping and dinner. You must be able to get off the bus to tour the homes so wear comfortable shoes and please bring a small flashlight. The bus will leave at 3 pm. For details and other information please contact Evelyn Hawkins at 845-7199. FAIRY GARDENS IN JANUARY: On Jan. 11 our program will bring Vicki Roney, President of the Big Bear Lake Garden Club. Vicki will be sharing with us the Fairy Garden concept. SEE'S CANDIES SALES DATES: We will be selling those fantastic See's Candies at the Craft Fair on Nov. 4 and 5 from 9 am to 2 pm in the lobby of the Main Clubhouse. Then again on Tuesday through Friday, Nov. 15, 16, 17 and 18 from 9 am to 2 pm but will be selling from the library. More sales on Nov. 22 and 23 and again in the Library. DECEMBER SALES DATES: Dec. 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17, Tuesday through Saturday in the lobby from 9 am to 2 pm. Then again on Dec. 20, 21 and 22 in the lobby from 9 am to 2 pm. Our beautification and charity research is ongoing as well as the Penny Pines Program, collection of soaps, lotions and personal items for people in need and of course the box tops and soup can labels for schools and eyeglasses and cell phones and small suitcases for others in need.
