FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2016 43 Ballroom & Social Dance Why is it that when we age more we dance less? Sometimes it's because of physical constraints, but mostly it's because of a mindset. We've convinced ourselves we're too uncoordinated and clumsy, and worry we'll make a fool of ourselves if we try dancing. Think back. When we were kids we jumped, ran, skipped, twirled and danced. The oldsters were constantly trying to get us to slow down and be still. Then little by little we became an oldster, a mature adult, and were robbed of one of the greatest things in life – dancing. So here's a question: will we come to the end of our lives only to discover that most of our dancing is still inside? Now is your chance to change that. Come to our Christmas Dinner Dance and enjoy an evening of good food, music and dancing. It all takes place at 4:30 pm Friday, Dec. 9 in the Ballroom, and costs only $25 per person. Ticket sales end the evening of Dec. 4, so get them while you can. And when the new year starts, come dance with us every Monday evening in the Ballroom. It's very enjoyable and rewarding, and might even get some of that childhood fun back into your life. We will take a break from our regularly scheduled dancing until the first of the year, but we'll let you know when our dance club starts up again in 2017. Contacts: Puring and Gary Stifter at (951) 922-8333, or at purings@verizon.net. ~ Willis Fagan The end of the year is almost here. I would like to thank Terry Hall for her assistance in the very beginning class. And thank you to all the advanced dancers who have been helping newer dancers along the way. Line dancing is very social. Even though you don't need a partner, some dances are more difficult for some of us to learn (including me) and one on one help is always appreciated. We will only have classes the first two weeks in December on the 6th and the 13th. We will start classes in January on Jan. 3. Please read the January Breeze for information on the new classes. I hope you will consider joining us in the new year. Line dancing is very good exercise, can be adapted for some physical limitations and is very forgiving if you miss a step. Besides which, it is a lot of fun. Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! ~ Martha Franck Line Dancing Good music and dancing enjoyed by everyone at our Dinner Dances Mike Saperstein and Tanya Thornton ham it up while Bill and Tanya Guy do a double turn
