| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | December 2016 | 3 As you may recall, in the November Board message we urged you to please remember your civic duty and exercise your right to vote on November 8th because it is a privilege not afforded to everyone in this world. It's part of what makes this country so great. Well, at long last, that very prolonged Presidential election period has ended. Without a doubt, it was one of the most unique and contentious elections in our nation's history. Regardless of which particular candidate you may have supported, and regardless of which candidate ultimately succeeded, I think we would all agree that we have all suffered immensely from the process this time. The divisiveness and campaign tactics of both major parties succeeded in driving a wedge between our good citizens. So, now it is up to us, as individuals, to put aside all the bitterness, anger, frustration and disappointment that so many of us may feel. We must come together as the great nation that we are and recognize that what transpired over the past year of election craziness does not define who we really are. And, there is no better time to begin this healing process than during the Christmas holiday season. This is the time of year that we love to envelope ourselves in the warmth of love and friendship that we find by spending time with loved ones and creating new memories that will last a lifetime. Embrace this opportunity to put aside petty differences and renew our commitments to our fellow human beings. Walk or drive around our lovely Four Seasons community and take in all the beauty that so many have contributed to over the years. Revel in how it has been enhanced by all the holiday decorations. Enjoy the company of your friends and neighbors while socializing in all the assorted gatherings and parties that take place. Participate in, or come out and watch the parade of creatively decorated golf carts as they pass through your neighborhood. Attend the fabulous performances of our talented singers and entertainers who live within our community. Also, don't forget to support the benevolent projects organized to support our military families and those less fortunate who are in need. Yes, indeed, this is a wonderful time of year! Looking forward and taking a peek at what is in store for us in 2017, we can see that we already have a pretty full calendar of activities and events that will keep us busy. Make a commitment to engage and participate to the fullest extent that you can. There are so many things that you can do here. Whether you only participate in social and exercise activities, or opt to also become a member of one of our many committees, you will most definitely benefit from the experiences. As Benjamin Franklin once said, "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." This truly is an active adult community, so dive in. Your Board of Directors wishes you all a very joyous holiday season! Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah! Message From the Board of Directors Sincerely, and on behalf of your Board of Directors, Greg, Ken, Jim, Tony, Gene and Don, Russ Brown, Vice President
