20 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | DECEMBER 2016 | Thanks to all who bought books at the November book sale! We appreciate everyone who stopped by to look. We use proceeds to buy more books, especially in areas that are frequently asked for, such as large print. Again, thanks to our library volunteers who helped – by the way you may see a volunteer reselling and if you have a question, please ask. The Library Committee will certainly try to respond to any inquiries or suggestions. We are here for you! The new glass cabinet in the paperback library is designed so that residents may look at the audiobook titles, thereby having an idea of what they wish to check out in the Main Clubhouse lobby on Wednesdays (1 to 4 pm). Audiobooks may be returned on these same days or you may ask the front desk to accept them back at other times. We feel that this part of the library is very popular with Sun Lakers. The Library Committee will have some new members in January 2017, but before that I would to thank, on behalf of all committee members, those who have served on the committee for the last two years. Thank you to Leeann McLaughlin, Lorene Swash, and Pat Clark. Your service has truly been appreciated and the libraries today are in better shape due to your contributions. Leeann spearheaded the audiobook selections and checkout, as well as updating and expanding the large print area. Lorene headed the volunteer coordinator spot for two years and kept all our volunteers happy with their time slots. Pat has been our intrepid treasurer and we appreciate her looking after the details month-to-month. We are also fortunate to have newer Sun Lakers who have volunteered for the next two year term. Thanks to all. It is December and this means that you should be in your family room, curled up in front of the fire with hot cocoa or tea. Don't you need an exciting book to make you want to stay in that comfy chair all day? Visit the libraries and find your next vicarious adventure! Library Committee
