26 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | DECEMBER 2016 | Yiddish Culture Club Oh Chanukah, Oh Chanukah the First Night is Christmas Eve Sun Lakes "INNS" will all be closed so where can we receive Our fellow members, good friends all, on this historic night? After the first candle is lit where shall we all alight? So now that we've explained our plight we'll give you our solution. And hope that you will please forgive this lengthy elocution. The calendar and schedule for the YCC December events begins on Wed., Dec. 14, with a pre Chanukah dinner catered by Johnny Russo and held in the South Clubhouse at 6 pm. Dinner will include Johnny's pot roast and chicken piccata, latkes with all the trimmings, veggies, challa, salad, jelly donuts, coffee and tea. Those who want a stronger beverage may BYO. Please remember our room limits and make sure to get your paid reservations to Diane Stone,1800 Litchfield Ct. by Dec. 9. Flyers with reservation forms will be available in the Main Clubhouse. Cost for this dinner is $22 for members and $25 for guests. The entertainment for this evening will be performed by Audacity, a trio starring Nancy Ford, Gina Harlan, and Sheila James. We're sure you will enjoy their performance. The evening will also include the election of club officers for 2017. On Sat., Dec. 24, Christmas Eve, we will meet outside the Main Clubhouse for the lighting of the first candle on our menorah at sundown. One of our member couples has graciously offered the hospitality of their home for a short reception after the candle lighting where we will share a glass of wine, the joy of the holiday and the warmth of friendship. Parking should be no problem because they live very close to the South Clubhouse which will be closed that evening. We will disclose their name and address at a later time. We hope to enjoy this event with our YCC friends.
