70 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JANUARY 2017 | Jay Pinz, a 27 year resident of Sun Lakes, passed away November 17, at the age of 81. Jay was born and raised in Locust Valley, New York. He is survived by his wife Pat, his daughter Cindy, son in law-Dean, son Mark, daughter in law-Lisa, grandchildren Kristen-her husband Blair, Grant, Marisa, Avery and Kelsey. Jay worked for AT&T for 30 years and loved living in Sun Lakes Country Club for the past 27 years. He was a man of many talents and hobbies, most recently sharing his homemade jam (Two Guys In A Jam) and jewelry making with his many friends. Jay and Pat traveled to many places in the world. He was a member of the Art League, Paisano and Friendship Clubs. He will be truly missed. Brenda Ray Bunch, resident of Sun Lakes, wife of Jim Bunch, passed away October 22 from complications of Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS). She was born June 8th 1953 in Zanesville, Ohio. She and Jim were married on Sept. 26, 1989, at Lake Tahoe, Nevada and moved to Sun Lakes in 2003. She is survived by two sons, Clint (Kim) Foreman and Brian Foreman, a stepdaughter Kim Bunch, and her two sisters, Janice (Larry) Chapman of Ohio and Karen Ray (Tim) McGovern of Florida. She had four grandchildren, Max Foreman, Hunter Foreman, Adelle Bunch and Jack Bunch. She also had two nieces and a nephew, Kayla (Michael) Dixon, Alyssa (Steven) Yancey, and Josh (Nikki) Aber. Her fur babies, Mollie and Rubie, will also miss her. She was preceded in death by her parents Kenton and Barbara (Smith) Ray, son Bradley Foreman, and stepson Jon Bunch. Brenda grew up in McConnelsville, Ohio and graduated from Morgan High School. She continued her education at Ohio University Zanesville where she received her degree in nursing. She worked as a RN for 34 years in McConnelsville and Zanesville Ohio, South Carolina, and California, retiring in 2015. She enjoyed her career as a nurse and made many lifelong friends at each place she worked. After being diagnosed with breast cancer she became an advocate. She walked in the "Susan G. Komen 3 Day-60 Mile" at age 60 and started a blog called "Survivor Sisters" so women and family members in all stages of cancer could connect. She and Jim loved to travel and visited many places that left them with wonderful memories. She loved live entertainment and enjoyed listening to her friends perform. Her retirement brought good times visiting back in Ohio with family and long time friends. Although she was in California for 30 years, she always maintained her status as a "Buckeye" and kept in contact with her Morgan County friends. She enjoyed her many friends all over the country who became more like family and especially loved her "Sun Lakes" girls.
