Well, Bob and I and our board want to wish you all a very Happy and Healthy New Year. We have some exciting events coming up, so get ready to mark your calendars. Young At Heart Club is gathering on Sun., Jan 22, to cheer on their favorite football teams during the NFL Play-off games with our Chili & Salsa cook off at the North Clubhouse. A large screen TV will telecast the two games while participants will cheer or jeer as their team's battle. The doors open at the North Clubhouse at 10:30 am. Cost is $5 pp, BYOB and glasses. Please advise Joe Shaw if you are bringing chili or salsa for judging. Also, if you are not bringing chili or salsa, please bring an appetizer to share for our buffet table (to serve eight). Joe Shaw and Patti Webb are the hosts of this event. Drop off your check to 651 Brooklawn Drive. If you have any questions their telephone number is 312-9775. This event is a crowd pleaser, so you won't want to miss out. Feb. 18: Mardi Gras Dinner Dance. We have wonderful plans in the making. Of course, it is a Mardi Gras theme, so feel free to come in masquerade attire, even if you don't want to dress up it will be a fabulous time. Cost is $20 pp. We will have a Louisiana style dinner, a special cocktail, of course Mardi Gras beads and a prize for the best costume. Doors open at 5:30 pm with dinner being served at 6 pm. BYOB and glasses. Michele Walter, 845-2002, is the contact person. Drop off your checks at 4713 Skyview Circle. March 18: St. Patrick's Dinner Dance at South Clubhouse. Gail Matejka will be the contact person. More information to follow. April 9: Wine tasting at North Clubhouse. Cost is $20 pp. Michele Walter and Suzi Robitzer will be the contact persons. May 13: Golf tournament and dinner at South Clubhouse. June and July: Dark Aug. 8: Pool party Sept. 3: Dueling pianos/appetizers in the Main Ballroom Oct. 21: Halloween Party. More information will follow when we get closer to the events. All of our events sell out quickly, so you do need to get your checks to the "contact person" as soon as possible. Membership dues for 2017 are due. Dues must be paid in order for you to attend any of our events.
