HAPPY NINTH BIRTHDAY TO US! Yes, Sun Lakes Social Singles is having our NINTH birthday and we would like you to come and help celebrate. Thomas Caterer's will be dishin' up their fabulous Prime Rib Dinner with all the trimmings… and, of course, a yummy dessert. Our favorite singer, Ed Avina, will be crooning all the songs we know and love. We are subsidizing (this month only) the difference of your usual dinner charge of $14, as these entrées are an additional cost to the club. Therefore, your cost will still be $14. Guests are $18 (this month only). If you live in Sun Lakes, you may come as a guest one time only, and then you must join the club. Make checks payable to Social Singles and drop your checks off at Betty McMillion's home, 5549 Pinehurst Dr., 769-6636. Those that want to sit together should put their checks in one envelope. Reservations and cancellations must be in the FRIDAY BEFORE the dinner. Jan. 15: "MASTERS OF HARMONY," $10. Ballroom. Our favorite 100 male voices are back for a special treat. Join us for a spectacular concert put on by this 40 member group. This band started in 1876 and will delight you with their music. Well, of course, it's time to say Happy New Year. Time to make those resolutions. Time to promise to go to the pool and sign up for Water Aerobics. Time to clean out your closets. Time to – get this one – write down your life story. Yes, exactly, so did you do that yet? Of course not. I'm too busy, or no one cares, or I can't remember anything anyway. So here again is the plea. Come to the Sun Lakes Genealogy Society meetings and let us help you research your ancestors, order your DNA test kit, and get a system together to store the names and dates and places of your family. Learn about all the great seminars that will be held in the local areas that you might like to attend. Hear lectures from genealogists who come here to help us with research. Browse through our own library in the back of the multipurpose room that has books to help with research. Touch artifacts that members bring in to share regarding the past lives of relatives. Share pictures of your family and places where you lived. We did Haunted Houses of our Past for the October meeting – very spooky! January meeting is Wed., Jan 25 (wow, just one month after Christmas) at 1 in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Wear your new clothes that you found in the closet while you were cleaning it out. Info., Charlene Fink, 769-4454. Genealogical Society
