4 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JANUARY 2017 | So you are not going to make any New Year Resolutions because it only takes a few days to break or neglect them? Because your track record is lousy? Because if you tell someone (and you will) they always check up on you? Because you always come up with a bunch of reasons why it was a dumb idea in the first place? Maybe it is all of the above. Let's face it — when we were kids we took making resolutions seriously and we tried hard to live by them and do the right thing. As we grew older we became less serious, we assured ourselves we didn't need resolutions to accomplish what had to be done. REMEMBER—we were going on a diet, we were going to save more money (how about just saving some), we promised to be better to our brother or sister, we were going to keep our room cleaner or do more around the house and the list went on and on. Well I've made a resolution… to suggest to you to make a few resolutions! And here they are: Make more of an effort to wave and say hi to the people in your neighborhood. You would be surprised how good it makes someone feel when you are friendly. It usually puts a smile on their face and it certainly will make you feel better. Participate more in the activities and events at Sun Lakes and in your District. This doesn't mean you have to go out and join ten clubs or groups. It means you will sign up for a luncheon or dinner or potluck, or attend the 4th of July festivities or a day trip or the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony. Obey the rules better than you have in the past. Stop at the "stop" signs more often and watch your speed. Instead of going 40 mph, try for 25 mph. Keeping your 10-year- old grandson from driving the golf cart would probably be a good idea also. Doesn't it make you feel better already, reading these resolutions and say to yourself I'LL DO IT! The District Delegate Assembly wishes everyone a happy and prosperous new year! DELEGATE ASSEMBLY REPORT Joe Formino, Chairman, District Delegate Assembly Well here we go folks, a New Year!
