| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JANUARY 2017 | 51 Sun Lakers at Canyon Lanes Wow, wasn't that fun! The holidays are over and all we have to do now is figure out a way to pay for it. Our bowling is not over though. The competition is strong. We have eight teams within five games of each other fighting for first. We have 12 new bowlers with us this year; hope you are all having fun. This is a fun league, but I see many bowlers taking it way too seriously. Frustration is setting in because they can't bowl as well as they feel they should. Chill out and have fun, you are all too tense. Anyway that's enough of that. In first place is "Waters World" by two games. This is Tom Keheley, Dolores Arter, John Noonan and Rich Waters. Second place is held by "Killer Keglers" with Mike Galongo, Loren Pitz, Shirley Mc Donald, and Ed Collatz. In third place is "Alley Oops" with Terry Brown, Richard Ming, Howard Oques, and Ron Krogh. The season high scores for the men are: Andy Toro with High Scratch series of 760, Ken Smelker with High Scratch Game of 268, Jim Allen with High Handicap Series of 756, and Jim McGowan with High Handicap Game of 302. Season high scores for the women are, Barbara Semic with High Scratch Series of 548, Sandy Elsworth with High Scratch Game of 214, Beverly Bly with High Handicap Series with 722, and Gail Stormes with High Handicap Game of 262. Dear God, my prayer for 2017 is to have a fat bank account and a thin body. Please don't mix those up like you did last year. Sun Lakers Monday at Moreno Valley Bowl With 12 weeks completed, we have a tie for first place in the split season first half. Team Nine, "Have A Blessed Day" with Luki Deasis, Celie Castro and Ernie Castro plus a vacancy are on top with more pins than Team 8 "The Optimists" with Caroline Gagnon, Bob McEwen, Jerry Campbell and Leo Gagnon! Both teams have 35 win points with a bye date on Dec. 26, we will not have a first half winner until Jan. 2, 2017. Look for a very close finish for the first half champion!
