Sun Lakers III
I'm sad to report that my three helpings of Turkey during the
Thanksgiving holiday did not translate into bowling three strikes in
a row, hence not even a "gobble-gobble."
It was announced during Wednesday's bowling that Andy
Torro had a 700+ series, which is code for three, 200 plus games.
Nevertheless, the opposing team, the Ravens with their handicap
were able to beat the Double Trouble team with three games. As of
this writing Andy carried a 205 average, I was asked why someone
that good would want to bowl in our league, I say why not, it's fun and
it helps us newbies raise our standard.
How many teams do we have you ask? Twenty. In first place as
of this writing is the Four Tea Cups, in last place is 4 Newbies. At
the time of this writing we will be coming up to our Position Week
for Dec. 14, which is determined by teams' placement standings, 1st
team plays 2nd place team, and so on and so forth. Just giving us a
mid jump-off point for the 2nd half of the season and taking us into
Sweeps week in April.
Please call Teri Comerford if you are interested in forming a team,
or want to add your name as a potential individual looking for a team
to play on, (760) 217-9656.
Do you enjoy playing the billiard game of 8 Ball? If you do, come join us. All residents are welcome to practice with us Mondays through
Saturdays. We normally 'pea' for partners at noon, then play to 2 pm or so.
There is no cost to join our group. However, if you elect to join a team, there is a $15 competition fee per three month season. Eight teams
compete every Thursday; four at 9 am and the other four at 1 pm in our Main Clubhouse Billiards Room. For a fun afternoon of fierce-but-
friendly competition, come watch us play.
