28 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2017
STAG: Senior Transportation Assistance Group Interest Group
Every Tuesday at 10 am, a Beaumont Dial A Ride Express bus stops
in front of the Lodge to take residents to Albertsons, Ross, Walmart
and Kohl's.
The return trip begins at 12:30 pm and picks up in the same order.
Please be outside and ready for pick up at 12:30 sharp.
Be sure to tell your friends about this route. It is truly a gift and I
would like see it have enough patronage to be sure it keeps operating.
If anyone is disabled and would like me to go with them for a first
trip to show them the ropes, call me at my new number (951) 845-
8477.
On Nov. 14, we had a full bus for an excursion to the Morongo
Casino. We were treated to a tour of the facility and a buffet lunch.
Some riders skipped the tour and did a little gambling, then met for
lunch.
The trips to Morongo are suspended temporarily so we are
considering an excursion to Polly's Pies Restaurant and the Hemet
Valley Mall in Hemet. I will be in touch with those signed up for the
Jan. 20 trip to Morongo to see if they would like to go to Hemet.
At our November STAG meeting, Beaumont Transportation
Director Elizabeth Gibbs announced a new medical bus route from
Beaumont to Redlands Target Shopping Center and Kaiser Redlands.
She said the route should begin sometime this month.
We also discussed using volunteer drivers, but we need to look into
insurance for them. In the meantime you can use the recommended
Beaumont taxi list. Call me if you need the list.
Please join us at our regular STAG meetings to exchange ideas
about the problems of getting around when using a car is not an
option. The next two meetings are at noon in the Lodge Ballroom on
Jan. 17 and Feb. 16.
If you have any questions or suggestions call our new number
