FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2017 21 The newly formed Rules and Regulation Committee would like to wish everyone a wonderful New Year. It's exciting to see the community members who want to volunteer their time to serve on this committee. At our first meeting we interviewed and approved four new members: John Hendzel, Cheri Howard, Lynette Simonson and Margie Chadburn. The Committee members decided to hold weekly workshops to dive into and gain a common understanding of our governing documents. Their enthusiasm and commitment is inspiring! At our next meeting we will be voting on the committee officers and reviewing the committee charter. We still have committee openings and welcome all homeowners to come and check us out. We're more fun than you might think! ~ Jeanne Glanville Rules & Regulations committee Four residents from our community were in attendance at our January meeting. Once again the main safety concern was the speed of vehicles within our community. The posted speed limit for Four Seasons Circle is 30 mph. Many residents are stating that they believe many are exceeding the speed limit. Please slow down and use caution while driving within our community. Another concern is that many seem to enter the traffic circles without slowing to a safe speed to make sure that they can stop in case there happens to be another vehicle coming that has already entered the circle. Just a reminder that those already in the circle have the right of way; those preparing to enter need to yield to them. Visibility of the circles is not always the best, so coming to almost a complete stop before entering is a safe plan. In case you haven't noticed, we recommended the Landscape Committee have the landscaper lower the privet hedges coming into the traffic circle from the main gate. This has increased the visibility for both the foot traffic that may be crossing in the crosswalk as well as vehicles that may already be in the traffic circle. It is our recommendation the privet hedge be maintained at the lower level. The Safety Committee also discussed security cameras. The technology has come so far in the last few years that we are looking at reviewing the cameras we have in place for picture clarity, as well as possibly installing more cameras around the two recreation areas that are now in full control of the HOA. Currently cameras only monitor the main entrances to our Lodge and Summit recreation areas, as well as our two gates. Our community is very active. We have many residents who walk every day as a form of exercise. Please use the sidewalks not the road as you are walking around our community. Another concern is that there seems to be pedestrian crossing only at our traffic circles. The Safety Committee will be out looking at areas that may be safe locations to install crosswalks across Four Seasons Circle other than the traffic circles. We do not want to disrupt traffic too much but would like to have a few safe crossing areas. Our trails were recently opened to our limited mobility residents who use motorized scooters; however, there are no crosswalks or safe areas to cross Four Seasons Circle at our trail entrances, so these areas may be good locations for a crosswalk. Our next regular scheduled meeting is Tues., Feb. 7, at 1 pm in the RCN Conference Room. Have a happy, healthy and safe new year. ~ Donna Lewis Safety Committee
